So the ongoing saga of who will be named as John Terry’s successor as England captain.
Caretaker manager Stuart Pearce has named Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker as captain, to many people’s surprise including myself. I am surprised by this decision as I and many others thought that there were far more suitable candidates for the role, including the likes of Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and the stand out favourite Steven Gerrard.
I can see maybe why Pearce picked Parker as captain, he was voted as the Football writers’ player of the year …

Date: Wednesday 15th February 2012. Location: San Siro, Milan. Incident One, the Serie A Champions AC Milan brush aside Arsenal 4-0 in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie. Incident Two, the British broadcast media hurl another possibly unscrupulous attack at the talents of AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
As you would’ve gathered we are going to be concentrating on the latter. Infact, there will be an overall look at the attitude of the British media in general. We should be used to this continual trend of criticism ‘Ibra’ …

Everyone knows Napoli or AC Milan are not an easy team to play against. So when both Arsenal and Chelsea arrived in Italy, I am pretty sure most of their fans were hoping for a draw. ‘Just, don’t lose this game.’ was probably what they were thinking. But guess what? Both teams lost their games in the most unacceptable way.
Being the last two England teams that stay in the Champions League, shouldn’t have given Chelsea or Arsenal too many pressure, because, you see, the two Manchester teams, at the top …

Let me first start this off by saying that there is a difference between the most valuable player on a Premier League club and the best player. Sometimes this could be the same player where their skill and ability have made them the center point at which the team rises or falls. In the case of the most valuable player though, this is a player that if they were not on the team the season could be shaping up a lot differently than expected. Of course this list is totally …

Two weeks on after the departure of Fabio Capello, Stuart Pearce names his first England squad and looks to be filling in for the vacant “impossible job” with no questions asked. After the resignation of a certain Fabio Capello, Pearce was called upon to name the 23 man squad to face the Netherlands on Wednesday, and without wasting any time, has surprised a few.
With Pearce’s first assignment, the likes of Fraizer Campbell and Tom Cleverly are set to make their first international caps. However, it’s not only the caretaker’s selection …

In the season of 2008-2009 Norwich City were relegated from the championship to league one, after neither Glenn Roeder nor Bryan Gunn could do enough to keep them up, Bryan Gunn was sacked shortly after the 7-1 defeat to Colchester on the first day of the 2009 season.
Lo and behold the man to succeed Bryan Gunn was the very man who inflicted that defeat, Paul Lambert. Paul Hadn’t done much really in a managerial sense before arriving at Carrow Road, A poor start at Livingston, a great cup run with …

All I’ve been reading about lately is the uncertainty of AVB’s future and how he might not possibly be the right man for the job, but could somebody tell me, who is? Chelsea are not currently good enough to win the premier league full stop and without a major overhaul fairly soon, I don’t think they will be next season either or the season after that or the season after that even. Okay so AVB’S not been in management for long, But what he has done nobody can deny is …

“It’s not you, it’s me”….. “I love you; I’m just not in love with you”…..”We’re just in two different places right now”. We have all heard these lines before, when a relationship finally breaks down after so many years together, it’s best to try and end it on good terms with no-one getting hurt. And this is the way Arsene Wenger and Arsenal should end their 16 year love affair, with respect and dignity, but knowing that it just doesn’t work anymore.
When Wenger took over from Japanese side Grampus Eight …

It’s been made clear that there is a clear divide amongst Arsenal fans, for and against Wenger. Surely if Arsenal beat Chelsea to the final top four position then this season will be somewhat a good season, but….. could it all have been so different? Who do you blame? Board or Manager?
If Arsenal had reinvested the money from the sales of Nasri and Fabregas into Mario Gotze and Juan Mata, how would this season have panned out, now a lot of you will be sitting there thinking why didn’t Wenger …

The extremely sudden and unexpected resignation of Fabio Capello’s from his role as England’s National Team’s Manager shocked many football fans. In the afternoon of February 9th, Capello officially announced to the press that he will no more take charge of the team because “the English FA gave him a disgrace.” What this means is that, despite of his scandal with his ex-team mate’s wife, and the racism rumors with QPR’s center back Anton Ferdinand, Capello gave the English Captaincy to Chelsea’s John Terry. This brought a number of arguments, …
