Currently available for pre-order, the new Nike Magista Obra has shocked the footballing world offering a boot with completely new innovations including FlyKnit and a Dynamic Fit Collar.
Like the CTR360 boot the Magista Obra is not the only model in the Magista range. Nike have manufactured five different boot raanges for the Magista all designed for different purposes and age levels. The Magista ranges rank in this order the Obra, Opus, Onda, Orden and Ola. The Obra is set to be worn by the world’s best players at the 2014 Brazil World Cup including Andrés Iniesta, Mario Götze, Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Jack Wilshere.
Priced at roughly £225 or €275 the Magista Obra is a boot worth trying out in store before you buy.
When you look at the Magsita Obra the first thing you see is the raised material above the ankle dubbed the Dynamic Fit Collar. The tall sock-like feature is unlike anything you have seen before on a football boot. The collar feature is manufactured using wool, yes wool dubbed FlyKnit. The result is a boot which moulds to the shape of your foot creating a boot which is more comfortable and lighter than previous control generations by Nike.
The Magista’s club level boot is dubbed the Magista Opus which lacks both the Dynamic Fit Collar and FlyKnit boasting a Kanga-Lite upper similar to what was seen on the CTR360 Maestri III boot recently dropped by the Big Swoosh. It was rumoured that the new Magista Obra would be the fourth generation of CTR360 Maestri silo.
An added touch to the Magista boots is the honeycomb pattern on the upper dubbed 3D Knit Texture designed for increased control in all directions. The Obra is the only boot to feature the Knit Texture while the Opus and scaled down ranges feature a similar textured pattern on the upper.
NIKESKIN and the lucrative ACC coating are added to the Obra and Opus boots helping the boots to maintain the same weight and control when playing in wet grounds. Heading to the soleplate the Magista features conical studs and a Pebax nylon plate similar to what is seen on Nike’s agility boot the Hypervenom Phantom designed to enhance agility, acceleration and manoeuvrability in every direction. Nike recently launched their second innovative boot in recent months the Superfly IV headlined by Cristiano Ronaldo. As quoted by Nike “Football will never be the same.”
