After an astonishing second half display from England, there World Cup preparations are in full gear, thanks to the feet of Peter Crouch. Dorival Junior is the manager of Santos FC in the Brazilian equivalent of the Premier League. Santos are the 11th team that Dorival Junior has managed in just 7 seasons. He has jumped from club to club from a range of Brazilian leagues at an alarming rate. Sung-Yong – Korea’s New ‘Ki’ Man

KI Sung-Yong. It’s a name that will struggle to ring bells if you aren’t a fan of Scottish or Korean football. The name might even fail to register to Scottish fans who aren’t followers of Glasgow Celtic. They have now won a record seventh Africa Cup of Nations titles, and have defended their double championship status with a 1-0 win against a determined young Ghanaian side in 2010’s final last Sunday. They defeated four World Cup-bound teams en route, namely Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria and Ghana. They won all their group matches, matching like true kings to the final with all the other teams in awe. They are undoubtedly Africa’s best team. They are Egypt.

Mali scored four goals in the last 15 minutes to draw 4-4 and astonish the football world in their opening game against hosts Angola. Minnows Malawi made World Cup-bound Algeria look very ordinary by beating them 3-0 and sending shockwaves across North Africa. Then Gabon pulled off another extraordinary result:  they sunk Africa’s top-ranked team 1-0. We thought we had seen it all.

Africa Cup of Nations Quarterfinal Predictions

Ola Angola! 16 teams started the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Angola. Now only 8 remain after the completion of the group stage of the competition. The tightest of the groups was undoubtedly Group D which had Cameroon, Gabon, Zambia and Tunisia. It was an exciting day on Thursday as all the four teams had a chance of making the quarterfinals. Zambia, though, stole the limelight on a day they started at rock bottom before finishing group winners based on goal difference.
