Fantastic win! After us losing 10 points and our play off dream completely ripped apart yesterday, all the court rubbish and with the club officially in administration now, I was just glad us fans could have a bit of happiness supporting Coventry City, great win. First half was domination, second was complete graft I’m not going to lie, don’t know how Doncaster being top and having the best away record didn’t score! Steven Pressley made 3 changes with Adam Barton, Callum Ball and Carl Baker coming in for Steven Jennings, Cody McDonald and Gary McSheffrey, about time McSheffrey was dropped!

GOAL- Cyrus Christie 13’
MOTM-Christie or Adam Barton, both fantastic throughout!
Attendance- No word on the attendance, no wonder considering I had to give my season ticket to a steward. Guess they forgot to turn the electrics on?
The game first real chance was the actual goal! On the counter Fleck played a beautiful pass out to the right hand side to an unmarked Christie, the right back running towards goal cut inside then fired towards goal beating Woods, fantastic solo effort! Both Moussa and Ball had their own chances, Moussa’s shot and Ball’s header were easily saved by Woods. League One’s leaders had their first real chance as a shot blocked was looping into the net, only for Murphy to scurry back to his goal and tip over and from the corner Jones tamed header went well wide of the City goal. Coventry pair Moussa and Stewart caused veteran Griffin all kinds of trouble down the left flank first half; one particular chance was great build up play. A one two between the par which Stewart brought a fancy back heel into play sent Moussa to shoot straight at Woods. Rovers Cotterill had a parried effort from Murphy, the Irishman pushing away and safely getting the follow up. Captain Carl Baker was very quiet all game, his opening shot easily saved by Woods, Barton had the last chance of the half firing just over the bar with it rattling the netting on the way up. Complete domination in the first half.
Second half we were the opposite, we did an England! Just we didn’t concede which I’m happy about J from the off Doncaster dominated, with Brown heading just wide with the first attempt second half. Cotterill had a fantastic chance for the away side, firing towards goal causing Murphy to dive to his left to keep it out, heroic diving save. James Coppinger thought he had pulled Rovers level firing home past Murphy but the flag was up. Coventry had their only real chance of the game, it was that man Christie again, whipping in a cross come shot that rattled off the bar, I’m not sure he meant it though! Doncaster had their self’s to blame not scoring throughout though, centre back McCombe heading over after being unmarked, absolute sitter! Substitute Furman went the closest, smashing a shot off the post beating Murphy stretching hands; thankfully it went out for a goal kick. Doncaster’s danger man Cotterill had the last chances, one easily saved by Murphy and one that he should really have buried, running free in the area, firing past Murphy but somehow it didn’t go in, I guess some last ditch heroic defending stopped it. That was it for any clear cut chances thank god; thankfully we were able to manage the away side’s pressure. I’m just happy we were able to forget about the off field rubbish and di the business on the pitch. Roll on Walsall away Monday! PUSB
