Here are the key fixtures Gillingham will play in their 2008/09 League Two campaign:
Gillingham will start their promotion bid away to fellow relegated side AFC Bournemouth on 9th August.
The first home league fixture is another encounter with a former League One side, as Luton Town – who start the season with a 10 point deduction following the club’s financial problems – visit the KRBS Priestfield Stadium, on 16th August.
Other fixtures of interest include a long trip up to Darlington on 23rd August, a home game against Accrington Stanley on 30th August, and Gillingham’s first ever league encounter with Morecombe, which will be at the KRBS Priestfield Stadium on 11th October.
During the Christmas period, the Gills visit Dagenham and Redbridge on Boxing Day, and play host to Wycome Wanderers on 28th December.
The last fixture of Gillingham’s hopefully successful campaign will be on 2nd May, where the Gills will visit basement regulars Rochdale, who like Gillingham, will be keen to end their association with English football’s basement professional league, ending their 35 year stint in League Two.
