Thanks for the blog. I've been watching the Shots since 1973 and this team is shaping up to be one of the best. It was a sad day for us all in 1992 when the club went out of business. But the journey since then has been fantastic and Gary Waddock, and before him, Terry Brown, have done an amazing job. The year we went up from the Conference we broke all records - goals scored, points scored etc. and that's testament to the attacking style of play that Gary Waddock and Martin Kuhl have brought to the club. And a special mention to the late John McGinty who put so much into the club.

This season I'd love for us to reach the play-offs and play at Wembley - but a long stay in League 2 (a la Rochdale) would do just as well, punctuated by the odd Cup run of course.

Watch out for more high-scoring games this season - and a message to other clubs - hands off Waddock!

good article it reflects most of what i have been thinking myself over the past couple of years. The Shots deserve all the success they get as they and the management team have worked so hard for it. Glad Chesterfield and Notts C were mentioned as these are the two games im looking forward to seeing. wishing you all the success in the world Aldershot.

Alright mattio. Yes it was a good result for your Chesterfield yesterday, however I picked out Aldershot because they are in a good position in 5th/6th depends on Notts County. Plus it is just fascinating about their clubs past.

Chesterfield are doing well and could well be up around the play off places this season. You have brought in some good players, like Mark Allott, Wade Small and David Perkins(impressed me last season when I went to see Leicester v Colchester)

Good luck though mattio with your Chesterfield side
