Portsmouth defender James Hurst has been banned from training at the club after an undesirable message appeared on his Facebook ‘wall feed’.
Coach Ian Woan was made aware of the comment and immediately took action.
Writing on his Facebook ‘wall’, the day of which Portsmouth played Arsenal at home, he said: ‘I hope we lose today.’
He has since been forced to train alone.
The club stated the ‘internal matter’ had been dealt with.
Hurst, 17, has already represented England under-17s and is said to withhold a bright future at full-back.
He was one of many youth players to join Portsmouth after their now infamous FA Cup success, rejecting offers from Manchester United and, ironically, Arsenal.
Although yet to make the first team, he has appeared in a number of pre-season friendlies.
