Is Cole Going Anywhere in January?

Although West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola insists Carlton Cole will stay with the hammers, Cole has been linked with a January move with various clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Zola has recently stated “Carlton Cole is an important player for this team, not only because he scores goals but also for his presence and I know Carlton wants to stay and is happy here” this suggests that West Ham will take much convincing to depart with the England International. The club has also stated that “The club has no intention of selling him or any of our important players during the January transfer period. He plays for us and we’re very happy with him” but with West Hams rising debuts selling Cole could be their answer.

Liverpool

In September of this year, they were various rumours that Carlton Cole was a potential target of Liverpool after his successful start to both his West Ham and international season. Cole, who so far this season has six goals for the hammers, is ranked ninth in the Premier League top scorers table. Liverpool are looking for an answer to their terrible start to the season and Cole could their answer. Like the Hammers, Liverpool also have financial difficulties with their new sixty thousand capacity stadium having to be halted due to lack of funds. So Benitez would have to sell one or two of his key players to afford to buy the England international.

Manchester United

With new arrivals Micheal Owen, Antonio Valencia and Gabriel Obertan not filling the void on the score sheet left by departured Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Teves, the reds will be looking for a more consistent goal scorer and Carlton could be the answer. With the large eighty million pound sum still left by Ronaldo’s departure, Ferguson is not short of cash to lour Cole to the Theatre Of Dreams.

Despite claims by both the club’s spokesmen and manager that Cole is not going anywhere, money talks and a big enough offer from any club not just the two above could lure the English striker away. I believe that if he leaves the Hammers he will go to Manchester United as they are desperate for an inform goal scorer and they also have the money to obtain him.

I think this isn’t an excellent piece but I was rushed off my feet this week and didn’t know what include in this article.

    Good image & video use,
    the hammers > The Hammers
Nice use of the relevant quotes to the article
West Ham’s rising debuts > West Ham’s rising debts
Liked the way you focused on the two potential clubs for a move
they were various > there were various
    Carlos Teves > Carlos Tevez
I thought you wrote a good interesting article, shame there are just a few spelling & punctuation mistakes.

Like the opening part would have been nice to know what other clubs are in the running for him I doubt Man U will want him Liverpool would love him but like you say they don’t have the money.

He likes West Ham they love him the only way he will leave is if it is a massive, massive salary increase and if West Ham get what bucket loads for him, more than what he is really worth.

He is such a linch-pin to West Ham and will go a long way to keeping them in the Premier League so I hope he stays he is dyminate to watch.
