Fernando Llorente, Carlos Tevez and recently Angelo Ogbonna have signed for Old Lady of Turin (Bleacher Report). Ogbonna was the most-sought defender in Serie A and Manager Antonio Conte has expressed his delight on new arrival. Juventus were already good enough but Ogbonna’s inclusion would allow Conte to rotate his three-man defense. Veteran Chiellini and Barzagli are immaculate but Bonucci would compete with Ogbonna to earn a place in defense. Tricky Asamoah and experienced Lichtsteiner will retain their wing back positions. At some point Caceres and Peluso could play their part but Isla and De Ceglie look certain to depart.
Vidal, Marchisio & evergreen Pirlo will resolve midfield issues for Conte. Vidal’s finishing & tackling is far more superior than the playmaker Pirlo, no wonder he is Juve’s Player of the season. Teenage sensation Pogba would be first choice midfield replacement & can energize midfield if given a chance. Italy U-21 star Luca Marrone has a bright future. He is a very good passer of the ball but needs to improve his aerial & tackling ability. Due to his versatility Marrone could be injected either in central defence or in midfield. Padoin looks redundant but Conte could use him against weaker opponents and in Cup games.
Last season Juve’s main weakness was its forwards. Vucinic, Matri and Quagliarella couldn’t perform up to the mark, hence Conte has introduced two great players to the squad. Stalwart Llorente and Charismatic Carlito are ready to make an impact. Conte is keen to bring on more forwards to the team & negotiating with Bologna over a possible Diamanti move. That would make more options in attack.
Juventus have one eye on Serie A title and the other on European glory. They are eager to complete the treble this time around & they are more than ready to take the world by storm.
