Juventus target Serie A hat-trick with Tevez swoop

27 June 2013 by

Current Manchester City and Argentina forward Carlos Tevez received a warm welcome when he arrived in the Italian champions home city Turin yesterday. Tevez completed a 7.6 million pound move on a three year deal to the Italian club and he will wear the illustrious number ten shirt last worn by Juve legend Alessandro Del Piero.

At Juve offices Tevez said to reporters “Juve was the club that wanted me most.” Juventus has already secured the signing of Athletic Bilbao forward Fernando Llorente in January and they look to strengthen their attack with the signing Carlos Tevez.

The club have not had a top forward at the club for several seasons but they have still won two consecutive Serie A titles with the likes of Mirko Vucinic, Alssandro Matri, Fabio Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco up front. The Argentine may look to play alongside Llorente up front with the likes of Giovinco and Isla on the wings.

Tevez’s former Manchester have already spent over 40 million pounds with the signings of Fernandinho and Jesus Navas and they may also bring in Edinson Cavani or Robert Lewandowski as a replacement for the Argentine. It was also reported that Tevez rejected Milan’s attempt because Juventus wanted the player more.

The likes of Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella may have to look somewhere else to play as Tevez will be chosen ahead of the two Italian forwards. Both strikers scored over 10 goals each in all competitions last season and Tevez is a player that can reach the 20 plus goals a season. The arrival of Fernando Llorente will also heat up the competition for places at the club.

It will be very exciting to see Tevez play in Serie A for the first time and to see how long it would take for him to adjust to the Italian game.
