How long before QPR’s Hughes is sacked….Fernandes must act soon to save Rangers

18 November 2012 by

Yesterday Mark Hughes’s QPR lost  3-1 at home to fellow strugglers Southampton in the game dubbed “El Sackio” in the press,  Hughes looked defeated and his team looked clueless, how long before Tony Fernandes has to admit defeat and sack the clearly out of his depth Welshman.

The inevitable banners and placards were out yesterday asking for “Harry to come save them” will only continue to put pressure on the under achieving former Wales, Blackburn and Man City gaffer.

After heavy investment in the summer QPR are the only team in the four tiers of English professional football yet to win a league match this season, this stat is shocking to say the least but more so when you consider the talent within that squad. I questioned the recruitment policy earlier this season and took some abuse from QPR fans, I stand by my comments that you can not purchase a nearly entire starting XI expect them to gel immediately.

Fernandes going on twitter and saying after the game “I feel gutted. I have put my heart and soul into this with my other shareholders and done all we can to give support to players and all management. I can only apologise to the QPR fans. We keep fighting” will only fuel the fires that Hughes will be sacked in the coming days.

Uncertainty like that at a club bottom of the Premiership and four points off their nearest rivals is not what is needed. The sad factor is at a club like QPR with the envious resources no one in that squad looks like they will dig in and fight to keep Rangers up, the likes of Taarabt, Granero and Hoilett largely anonymous yesterday it isn’t looking good for the W12 club.

Tough away fixtures at Manchester United and Sunderland to come wont look too promising, the rumour is Fernandes will wait until after these two tough away fixtures before making his decision, the question is will this be too late?, can Harry Redknapp or anyone else for that matter come in and save a team that may by then be as much as 10 points adrift?….

No point in sacking Hughes, cant buy any new players till January.give the players that are letting everyone down a kick up the backside and maybe they will improve.
