Manchester United looking at Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski?

11 June 2013 by

It has been reported that Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Robert Lewandowski if the Red Devils stump up £25.5million for the forward. The Polish striker has been linked to several big name clubs including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City in the past few weeks.

Lewandowski is expected to move to the club of his choice within the coming days and he is definitely not moving to German powerhouses Bayern Munich according to Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke who said “Robert Lewandowski will definitely not transfer to Bayern Munich in 2013.”

The Pole has world class finishing and dribbling abilities making him one of the hottest prospects this summer. In the past two seasons for his current club Borussia Dortmund he has scored 66 goals in all competitions which included a historic four goals against Spanish giants Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

If Lewandowski was to move to Manchester United it would almost certainly pave the way for Wayne Rooney to exit where he has been linked to the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in recent weeks. This would form a formidable partnership with Robin van Persie up front where new manager Moyes would probably form a flat two striking partnership.
