Roma after Gilberto

According to latest reports, the Giallorossi have tightened their grip on Brazilian midfielder Gilberto Silva. Sportitalia has revealed that the Roman club have advanced a proposal to secure the services of the 31-year-old.

Roma’s offer, said to be in the range of €2.5m, is allegedly being taken into serious consideration by the Gunners. Silva’s deal at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire at the end of the 2008/2009 season.

Roma are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next term and have already acquired Norwegian left-back John Arne Riise from Liverpool.

Gilberto doesn’t regualary start at Arsenal and may be transfered the big question is 2.5 million pounds enough?
