The race for promotion to the Premier League is shaping up to be a cracker! With just 11 games left there are still several teams fighting for automatic promotion, not to mention several vying for a play-off berth.
The top spot is held by Burnley however Middlesbrough, Hull and Brighton are all within touching distance. Derby find themselves safely in fifth place whilst Sheffield Wednesday, holding the final play-off spot, are under pressure from  Cardiff, Birmingham and Ipswich, snapping at the final play-off position. So who’s got what it takes to go up?

Wigan – Bayern Munich, Barcelona and… Wigan. Wigan’s victory at the Etihad this weekend puts them into the semi-finals of the FA Cup and allows them to make a boast that very few clubs across Europe are able to make: they beat Manchester City on their own turf. Despite misfiring slightly with Owen Coyle, Dave Whelan seems to have an eye for a superhuman manager. Following Roberto Martinez’s heroics in last season’s FA Cup final was going to be no mean feat, but Uwe Rosler has set about copy-and-pasting the …

Anybody with half an eye on this seasons Premier League will know its been terrifically exciting and probably the most open its ever been. The entire bottom half  are within 8 points of one another and everyone in the top half has something to play for whether it be an Europa League position, champions league spot or aiming for the title itself which means every game is vital. So what better time to step up and give some outstanding performances, and who amongst others have been doing that? ENGLAND PLAYERS.

18 year old Norwegian Mats Moller Daehli who signed for Cardiff just a few days ago from Molde has claimed that he turned down a move to Manchester United to play for Cardiff under fellow Norwegian Solskjaer.
The Norwegian who has been capped twice by Norway was apart of United’s youth team and was then signed to Molde under Solskjaer when he managed the Norwegian team.
Here’s what the Cardiff manager had to say after the 2-0 loss against West Ham yesterday. “He (Daehli) had talks with United, they had the option …

The temporary truce barely lasted 5 days as Mackay leaves Cardiff Christmas is a time of surprises but the sacking of Malky Mackay yesterday certainly wasn’t one of them. As internal disputes at the Welsh club rumbled on for the past couple of weeks it was inevitable that the whole sorry episode would end with the manager being relieved of his duties.
In yet another saddening display of the madness of football owners, Vincent Tan has sacked the first manager in 50 years to lead Cardiff City to the top flight …

We all miss Football when the season finishes and in odd ending years where there are no major tournaments we miss it even more. Last we had the Euro’s and then a big distraction in the fantastic Olympics that bought so much joy to the nation. This year we have had some more big British success in the break from football, the Lions winning down under, the Ashes, Justin Rose winning a major, Chris Froome winning the Tour de France and of course Andy Murray winning a certain tennis tournament …

After reading the title of this piece, you may think I am merely reporting old news, after all it has been well known for some time that Cardiff City are in the red to the tune of £70 million.
However, the Malaysian billionaire in charge of the club, founded in 1899 as Riverside AFC, has come up with a cunning plan turn the debt in to profit. Chan Tien Ghee has decided to do away with the traditional blue shirts and replace them with red shirts. The club crest has also been …

In this feature I will focus on last year’s play off semi finalists Cardiff City, for a team who has had so much success in recent years but have always failed at the final hurdle, can their fortunes change in season 2011/2012 as Malky Mackay takes charge of the Welsh side. Can Cardiff City eventually claim promotion, or will they slip away and fail again…

This season will see an enormous transformation at the Cardiff City stadium, after plenty of delightful season’s under the guidance of Dave Jones, the Cardiff …

Reading were worthy winners in this week’s second Championship semi-final second leg against Cardiff City, beating the Welsh side 3-0.
Having ended goalless at the Madejski Stadium only four days before, the match in the Welsh capital promised to be an equally tight affair, especially as the two league games had ended in stalemates as well.
However, the second leg could hardly have been more of a contrast, as Reading totally dominated the Bluebirds to seal a date at Wembley on 30th May against Swansea City.
Despite the absence of star striker Craig …
