It has been another unbeaten month for Sheffield United. The current run stands at 14 league games with 1 game remaining in the month of October. Despite this good run things don’t seem to be as rosy as they should be at Bramall Lane. The financial concerns still exist it seems. United’s number 1 goalkeeper could be out for up to 3 months with a thigh strain but Danny Wilson has been unable to bring in either a back up for young George Long or an experienced number 1. They …

So, we have seven or eight games to go, and the race for automatic promotion in League One is really hotting up. Charlton have been leading the way from almost day one, but are now starting to show that they are not invincible. Three defeats in the last four games suggest they are getting nervous as the finishing line is in sight, can they keep hold of an automatic promotion slot? The points they accumulated could see them through, but they face a real threat from Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday …

Two goals from Chris Dickson and a third from Deon Burton gave Charlton a comfortable win in their first match of their Irish Tour. New signing Frazer Richardson was left out of the squad for last nights game but manager Phil Parkinson expects him to play some part of Wednesday’s match.
We opened the scoring 13 minutes in when a seemingly back in favour Izale McLeod was fouled in the box by their keeper and Deon Burton slotted home the penalty.

Charlton manager Phil Parkinson admitted he had been tracking Frazer for a while over the summer and was delighted to get Frazer on board. He said “He’s a good player and he’s got lots of experience in this division and higher. He’s been at Leeds …

Last night was Charlton’s annual pre-season outing at Park View Road in front of a crowd of 2200. I will give them the benefit of the doubt following the disappointing 1-1 draw as it was only the first competitive match of pre-season.
We wore our new home shirt (which I think is quite nice) with our new sponsor KRBS emblazoned across the front.
On a positive note there was plenty of youngsters playing last night which can only bode well for the future. Alex Stavrinou, Chris Solly, Tama Tuna, Jack Clark, Grant …

Chinese international midfielder Zheng Zhi today left Charlton Athletic after turning down the clubs offer of a new contract. Unfortunately Zheng wanted to play at a higher level in football and due to our relegation to Coca Cola League One we were never going to be able to offer him that.
Since joining in 2006 Zheng played 70 matches and scored 11 goals and in my opinion only played well when it suited him which was far to infrequently!
Unfortunately he was injured a lot last season and I don’t see the …
