Mike Ashley is looking for his fifth permanent manager since buying Newcastle United in 2007 after Alan Pardew opted to head to South London and a three and a half year contract with his former club Crystal Palace.
Managing Director Lee Charnley along with Chief Scout Graham Carr will be tasked with appointing the man to replace the un-liked Pardew and hopefully winning over the Toon faithful in the process.
Many names have been mentioned and a few ex-players have chipped in with their suggestions…
Ill review the bookies favorites and a few …

Basketball and Football, two similar yet entirely different games. Same basic rules which are to score as many as you can before the end of the game, but the difference is so big you sometimes forget that they are so similar. With the obvious fact of Basketball is a ball being dribbled with hands and Football is a ball being dribbled with feet, there are other rules which make the sports almost opposites in a way. Basketball could improve the future of English football.
I believe this as if you look at …

On the 2nd January 2015 Liverpool’s captain Steven Gerrard announced his intention to leave Anfield at the end of the 14/15 English Premier League season after a 25 year link to the club he joined at 9 years of age.
After almost 700 appearances and 180 goals the Whiston born Midfielder is not signing the deal offered to him by the club and is moving to a non-competing club will that will not be lining up against his beloved Liverpool in the future, now this leaves a few options for future employment:

There is a common misconception from the outside that Tottenham fans expect too much, complain all the time and don’t deserve what they have. But from the inside, it is quite the opposite.
Treated to FIFA like corruption, constantly lied to on just about every big media circus, subjected to bizarre decisions, poor communication and ultimately the most inconsistent nonsense in the one place it matters, the pitch.
The only consistency that has taken place in my most memorable years as a Spurs fan, has been the chairman.
Levy is a broken record, …

Who can deny Chelsea have been mighty impressive this season? Not only have they look good both going forward and defensively but in all their matches there seems to be a sense of control. You might argue that City seemed to boss them at the Etihad. However even in that game it really didn’t seem like Chelsea were going to lose, and lets face it they really should have come away with three points. I said before about the control they seem to have but its more than that its …

Its been a great window for Tottenham! hasn’t it? you can still hear some of the disgruntled fans screaming, sign a striker!!! But to the masses this has been a great window, deadwood has been sold and for a profit.
Deadwood:
Total spending: £7,500,000
Total income: £12,000,000
(Figures above is the amount made from Livermore and Falque).
Key positions:
Fans have been extremely happy with the signing of players needed in key positions. But most of all the competition for places especially in the defence which was one of our weakest positions is a great …

New Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal has already kick-started his Manchester United reign with 5 wins in an unbeaten US pre-season tour, which concluded with a 3-1 victory over rivals Liverpool to lift the International Champions Cup. The Dutchman, who led Holland to 3rd place in this year’s World Cup, has taken the same 3-5-2 system he used with the national team and implemented it at United, and the system has already proved to get United the results they want. United were phenomenal throughout pre-season, picking up victories over …

With just under a month to go before the summer transfer window slams shut, the transfer activity of English Premier League clubs shows no sign of slowing down. Indeed, a recent report from Deloitte’s Sports Business Group stated that this years transfer window spend could surpass the record of £630m set in 2013.
While the big name and big money signings naturally attracting all the headlines, I’ve decided to take a close look at the ‘under-the-radar’ transfers that have happened so far this window.
The big names might help get bums on …

Eric Dier is one step closer to becoming Tottenham Hotspur’s newest defender. Pictures have emerged of the Sporting defender at Lisbon Portela Airport. Various reports have said the defender will sign from Sporting for £4 million on a 5 year deal. The left back would slot right in to the starting Spurs defence.

So, to the fourth in this series of 6 articles looking at the top 60 players in world football and probably the hardest list to select. In researching this list I realised our generation is blessed with a group of fantastic central midfielders and picking just 13 was very difficult. In fact, it proved too difficult and I had to choose 4 honourable mentions instead of just 3. I apologise and hope you will understand the difficulty. Thank you and please enjoy, comment, discuss, vent your outrage at my selections and read the …
