The Scene
On a pleasant spring-like Friday night in West London AFC Bournemouth  visited The Cottage to face Fulham FC in a battle that would see Bournemouth move top of the Npower Championship for the 5th time this 2014/15 season with a victory. Fulham sat in 20th place, buoyed by two decent performances, faced an out of sorts Bournemouth team who had slipped to 4th after winning only once in their previous six.
Fulham set up in an attacking looking 4-4-2 diamond formation, with Premier League experienced Bryan Ruiz and Scott Parker …

The news that Felix Magath is to replace Rene Meulensteen as Fulham’s manager is certainly one that has induced shock and discussion. The appointment could be seen as one of a number of things; opportunistic, dumb-founded, panic-stricken or even inspired. A manager whose notoriety around Europe lies in his history of excruciatingly difficult training sessions and hardened disciplinarian style is also a manager armed with 3 Bundesliga titles on his CV.
For Magath, the choice of Fulham seems peculiar, particularly when he was a whisker away from returning to his beloved …

Anybody with half an eye on this seasons Premier League will know its been terrifically exciting and probably the most open its ever been. The entire bottom half  are within 8 points of one another and everyone in the top half has something to play for whether it be an Europa League position, champions league spot or aiming for the title itself which means every game is vital. So what better time to step up and give some outstanding performances, and who amongst others have been doing that? ENGLAND PLAYERS.
We’re …

Manchester City moved up to second in the Premier League after a thrilling victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Yaya Toure scored stunningly from a direct free kick and Vincent Kompany prodded home before the break as City seemed to be in control.
Fulham pulled one back when Kieran Richardson finished off a counter-attacking move and levelled after Vincent Kompany sliced his intended clearence over the head of recalled goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Two well taken goals from two substitutes, Jesus Navas and James Milner, ensured Pellegrini’s side crept up to second in the …

As a disappointed Palace fan, I am now in a position to not only talk about last night’s game, but to actually accept and digest the massacre I witnessed on my TV last night.
On that balmy May Bank Holiday Monday, I, along with many thousands of Palace fans witnessed something incredibly special, and something that will live within our hearts forever, promotion to the Premier League, at Wembley Stadium. We have been promoted there before, but this was extra special, coming on the back of years of struggle, turmoil and …

In the build up to the England Vs Moldova game tonight there has been a lot of talk about Joe Hart. Some of it very positive to such an extent that he is being described as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and some less positive talking about the mistakes he has made this season so far.
All this talk got me thinking. What makes a great goalkeeper and just who are the best around at the moment in the Premier league?
Speaking purely for myself I believe there are …

The opening defeat at home stirred up some discontent in the campaign, but Arsenal has reacted superbly with two consecutive victories. On a rainy afternoon at Craven Cottage, Arsenal was not quite at their best. With a bit of luck and two well-worked goals, Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski led the Gunners to a convincing 3-1 win.
Darren Bent got his first ever goal for Fulham, but Martin Jol would have a lot to worry about his defence. Speedy attack could easily expose Brede Hangeland and Aaron Hughes and this was …

We all miss Football when the season finishes and in odd ending years where there are no major tournaments we miss it even more. Last we had the Euro’s and then a big distraction in the fantastic Olympics that bought so much joy to the nation. This year we have had some more big British success in the break from football, the Lions winning down under, the Ashes, Justin Rose winning a major, Chris Froome winning the Tour de France and of course Andy Murray winning a certain tennis tournament …

As confirmed via BBC Sport, 40 year old goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has joined Chelsea for 1 season after being released by London neighbours Fulham.
From Schwarzer’s point of view, it is a fantastic move to a top European club – if bench warming is all that he wants to do in the final years (or year) of his great career where he was the first foreign player to reach 500 English top flight appearances. I believe that he could still have a starting spot, albeit at a club not so mighty …
