Nike have released the official 2013 away shirt for the Netherlands this week. The shirt colours reflect the country’s national flag of blue, white and red. The shirt was unveiled by Kevin Strootman, Ricardo van Rhijn and Adam Maher.

The shirt has the same design as the home shirt but with a red shape on the left shoulder and a blue shape on the right waist. The shirt is complemented with white shorts and socks. The shirt boasts Nike’s successful Dri’Fit technology which increases breathability and the punch holes on the …

A scintillating Cristiano Ronaldo double put Portugal into the European Championship quarter-finals and sent the Netherlands out.
The Dutch needed to win by two clear goals to stand a chance of progressing and Rafael van der Vaart’s lovely curling strike put them ahead.
But the Netherlands faded badly and Ronaldo equalised by slotting in from Joao Pereira’s precise pass.
Nani set up Ronaldo to drive in the winner as Portugal eased to victory.

Ahead of the match Portugal remained unchanged for the third consecutive game. Netherlands on the other hand made three changes as …

There’s still some hope for the Netherlands but as one of the pre-tournament favourites there must be bitter disappointment at the state they find themselves in. The loss to the Germans can’t have been wholly unexpected, but after the defeat by the Danes, the coach Bert Van Marwijk must have been hopeful of a reaction that could have put the Dutch back on track to achieve qualification to the knock-out phase. However, in many ways the performance against the Germans was worse and Van Marwijk himself needs to have a …

With the final Euro 2012 Group B matches about to take place let’s start with the important bit; who exactly can make it through to the next round of the competition.
Mathematically all three teams can still progress dependant on results.
Germany, who face Denmark, only need one point to progress. Even if they lose they will still progress with a 3-2 defeat, or a higher-scoring one-goal loss. Otherwise, they will be out if Portugal beat Netherlands, but through if the Portuguese do not claim three points.
Portugal will progress if they beat …

No need to go into too much detail about the Netherlands v Denmark game. You saw the game or at least the highlights. The Netherlands had loads of chances and missed all of them. Van Persie looked like a shadow of the player who banged in 30 odd goals for the Gunners and we saw the best and worst of Robben who seemed to be able to beat his man at will and then tried to score from 30 yards, when team mates were in great positions.
 The Netherlands coach Bert …

The opening fixture in the group of death pits two of the competitions former winners in a ‘neither-team-can-afford-to-lose’ clash.
The game also brings together a clash of arguably Europe’s best playmaker and one of the pretenders to the throne. Wesley Sneijder has had an indifferent season for Inter Milan, but has recently shown signs of the form that made him the Netherlands key performer of a side that finished runners-up to Spain at the last World Cup. On the other hand Denmark’s playmaker Christian Eriksen has had a great season for …

Introduction
The Dutch are arguably the biggest underachievers in World Football with only 1988’s Euros to show for a nation that’s produced Cruyff, Gullitt, Van Basten, Bergkamp to name just a few.
The simplistic view of the Dutch is that they turn up to a tournament as one of the favourites, a star player falls out with the coach and is sent/flounces home, there’s infighting in the squad and they go out on penalties. A somewhat more complex analysis suggests that they never seem to have that extra dimension they need to …

The 2012 European Championships are just around the corner, as in two days’ time tournament co-hosts Poland face Greece in the opening game, of this summer’s football spectacle. For Bert Van Marwijk’s Dutch side, the coach faces an attacking dilemma, the 60 year old has various options for their opening game against Denmark on Saturday, but with many players such as Ibrahim Afellay showing form in Holland’s warm up games, come Saturday Bert Van Marwijk faces the task of a selection headache, a back five of Stekelenburg, Van Der Wiel, …

On the 26h of May Holland officially announced their finalised squad for Euro 2012. Regular names such as John Heitinga, captain Mark Van Bommel, Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and an in form Robin Van Persie were all included by head coach Bert Van Marwijk; however the 60 year old did spring a few surprises in his 23 man squad. The duo of 18 year old wing back, Jetro Willems and 21 year old winger Luciano Narsingh will join up with a lengthy list of experienced players for this summer’s European Championship; both players …

The Netherlands booked their place in their third World Cup final after overcoming a determined Uruguay side 3-2 at the Green Point stadium in Cape Town last night.
The Dutch were strong favourites before kick-off and took an early lead through Giovanni van Bronkhorst’s stunning 40 yard strike. Arguably this world cup’s best goal however was surrendered before half-time when Diego Forlan struck to pull his side level; his long range effort decieving Maarten Stekelenburg, who couldonly flap the ball into the roof of the net.
Uruguay looked to be gaining confidence in …
