27 year old French international Yohan Cabaye has been tipped for an Arsenal move by fellow Newcastle team mate Massadio Haidara. It has been reported on French website footmercato that Haidara would rather Cabaye leave to Arsenal than French giants PSG.
Haidara states “He’s really a good person who works hard to be at this level. I am happy to play with such a player, he has the qualities to go to a bigger club than Newcastle yet”.
“Whether PSG or Arsenal, two big clubs, but I personally find that Arsenal would …

Already one of the more colourful figures to grace the English Premier League, Papiss Cisse may have taken a gamble with his Newcastle United career, following the latest incident in his chequered period at the club. A picture has appeared of him apparently enjoying a few hands of poker at a casino, just days after his refusal to don this season’s Newcastle shirt.
The Senegalese striker claimed the Wonga loan company sponsorship clashed with his religious convictions. Consequently he dropped out of the Magpies pre-season tour in Portugal on these …

Newcastle’s newly appointed director of football, Joe Kinnear, has wasted little time in yet again speaking to the media with regards to his appointment and yet again he has caused a stir as a direct result of his claims to the Shields Gazette. Joe Kinnear began the interview by explaining just why Newcastle United had approached him to become director of football at St James’ Park, insisting that is was Mike Ashley’s desire to keep up with the rest of the Premier League whom Joe Kinnear claimed, “all have a …

A rotund, boozy chairman standing on the terraces. An ex-professional with the business sense, let alone common sense, of Derek Trotter as ‘Executive Director of Football’. A scouting system that involved splashing the hard-earned cash of the club’s tens of thousands of loyal fans on unknown players with a few hundred YouTube hits. Oh, how far the ‘wee club in the North east’ has come since the doom and gloom of relegation to England’s second tier.
Since the relegation of the Toon Army and it’s overplayed and overpaid ‘stars’, Mike Ashley …

New signing Moussa Sissoko had the home debut of his dreams on Saturday as he dragged Newcastle from defeat and led them to a memorable victory.
From the start Newcastle looked up for it, however Chelsea had the first chance, with Frank Lampard ‘shinning’ the ball over from 10 yards. Papiss Cisse then hit a tame effort at Petr Cech, before having an effort saved again from 10 yards.
Chelsea then attacked through Demba Ba, who ran on to a great pass from Frank Lampard, he then shot at Krul and was …

As always Newcastle United picked up the bargain of the Transfer Wndow after snapping up French International and former Toulouse player Moussa Sissoko for a reported £2.2 million pounds.
The well-known and highly respected central midfield enforcer has been linked with the magpies for just over a year and other clubs including Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, but after numerous disputes and no deals between the clubs, finally Sissoko got what he wanted.
On Newcastle’s official website he stated; “I am delighted to be a Newcastle United player, this is a massive club playing …

Going into the January transfer window, it was clear Newcastle United’s squad was in need of a serious makeover.
After an injury-hit and generally dire first half of the season, the Magpies sat 15th in the Premier League, despite a magnificent fifth-placed finish last term.
Two morale-sapping defeats over the Christmas period to Manchester United and Arsenal left Alan Pardew’s side staring a relegation battle in the face, and investment from owner Mike Ashley was badly needed.
With hindsight, last summer’s decision not to build on the success of last season was a …

After much had been made over Newcastle’s recent signings over the past few days, many fans were eager to see the newly dubbed French Revolution in action. What we saw was encouraging, Moussa Sissoko looked a tremendous player, showing speed and strength not too dissimilar to a certain Yaya Toure of Manchester City. Yoan Gouffran put a good shift in, he looks like a player that will do a lot of honest hard work for Papiss Cisse and grab a few goals for himself along the way.
Newcastle dominated the opening …

As we approach the end of the January Transfer Window it is Newcastle who have been amongst the busiest so far. Having added five players from Ligue 1 Newcastle now have ten outfield French players in their squad. Given the relatively low fees spent on these players it looks likely that Newcastle will add at least a couple more players to the side before the window closes. They may well be coming from France too, with St. Etienne stating they have rejected a bit from Newcastle for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. …

Newcastle United’s best start to a season in the Premier League was not from Kevin Keegan, nor Sir Bobby Robson, but Alan Pardew. It weren’t Andy Cole, Les Ferdinand, David Ginola, Faustino Asprilla, Alan Shearer; but Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote, Fabricio Coloccini and Demba Ba. The Magpies started the 2011/12 season with an 11-match unbeaten run and ended with European football qualification. It also made history as Pardew became the first English manager to win the Premier League Manager of the Season and League Managers Association Manager of the Year …
