“Herein lies a recurrent theme throughout (Gian Piero) Gasperini’s career; an ability to revitalise slightly jaded or undervalued talent to achieve maximum potential”, (Source: thesefootballtimes.co).
AC Milan?…no, Roma?…no, Lazio?…no, but Atalanta will be one of Serie A‘s representatives in the Champions League next season. Not only have they secured their highest ever league finish, but finishing third has put them automatically into the group phase. Before the season started this was not deemed possible. This accomplishment however, is a reward for sticking with their manager (Gasperini), selling players for good money …

At the start of the season I made my predictions for the Champions League Group Stage, and 14 out of 16 teams tipped to qualify were correct, with Schalke getting through instead of Galatasaray (Group D), and Lyon ahead of Shakthar Donetsk (Group F). So now it is time for the knockout stages, let us have a look at who will advance to the Quarter Finals.
Champions League Round of 16
Legs to be played on 12th February & 6th March
Manchester United v Paris Saint Germain
This tie could not come about …

Fulham have informed that they have sacked manager Slavisa Jokanovic, and replaced him with former Chelsea and Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri. But did Jokanovic deserve the sack this early in the season? And was his termination handled respectfully?
It was only at the end of October, after Fulham’s 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, that Fulham owner Shahid Khan gave Jokanovic his public backing stating that, “(Jokanovic’s) record shows he has always led Fulham admirably when the stakes are at their highest”, (Source; dailymail.co.uk). Not even three weeks later and Jokanovic …

Another Champions League season is upon us, with some interesting groups being drawn and various betting promo codes you can use to back potential winners. But which teams will advance to the knockout stages from their respective groups and which teams will finish third and go on to play in the knockout stages of the Europa League? Here are my predictions…
Group A
Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco & Club Brugge
Europa League winners Atletico have had a rather awkward start to their domestic league season, but will still qualify from this …

So now at the completion of the group stage, we were down to the last 16 teams. There was a one day rest between the final group game in Group G, and the start of the knockout stage. After having two weeks of relentless football, the intermission seemed to take a lifetime.

Last 16
Saturday June 30th – Day 16
The first last 16 game, saw Group C winners France, play Group D runners up Argentina. France’s Antoine Griezmann slammed the crossbar with an early free kick. France were then awarded a penalty. …

Many World Cups have passed and they just seem to fly by ever so quickly. There is so much football played, that though we have watched a lot of it, whether it has been seeing the game live or watching highlights, it can really scramble the brain to pinpoint everything that has happened. I therefore had an idea to keep a diary/log from day to day, something that can be just as useful in many years as it is now, in regard to jogging the memory. So here I present …

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah could miss the 2018 World Cup in Russia after dislocating his shoulder in the Champions League final. The Reds lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in Saturday night’s final in Kyiv, but Salah could face further heartache as he may not recover fast enough to feature for Egypt.
He picked up the injury after being hauled to the ground by Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, locking arms with the Spanish international and subsequently dislocating on impact when he fit the floor. He was forced off after just 30 …

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho revealed he will be building his squad on tried and trusted players, rather than rough diamonds, hinting that a youth policy will be scraped for more experienced heads.
This could be bad news for the likes of Jesse Lingard who has struggled for form in 2018 and might not see much playing time next season if new signings are brought in.
The 25-year-old has been given a lot of playing time, but he’s never nailed down one specific position, instead being moved around at the will of …

Liverpool’s transfer activity will be highly scrutinised after scraping 4th place in the league and getting into the qualifying stage of the Champions League. Manchester City for instance have already purchased Bernardo Silva from Monaco and have apparently tied up a deal for Benfica’s keeper Ederson for a huge £34.7m.
This has prompted a social media meltdown from Liverpool fans, though the 2016/17 season has just barely concluded. The transfer window does not officially reopen for a month, but that does not mean business cannot be done now. So let’s have …

Right now football, as all know, is the richest sport in the world and it’s not impossible for some players to earn millions. But what does a player do with all of the money they have? While it may sound stereotypical, buying flashy, fast and expensive cars seems to be a popular thing for football players to splash their cash on. Fast and expensive, the following supercars are some of the most loved toys that Premier League football players in particular love to throw their cash at! As most of …
