Posh only have themselves to blame as they come away from Bloomfield Road frustrated
A sunny day by the seaside, two teams who were desperately had a point to prove, this game sounded like it would be exciting and it didn’t disappoint. The scoreline was close and so was the game, the only difference was the two goals from Kevin Phillips that killed a match which up until that point was highly entertaining.
Posh started the game the brightest with Lee Tomlin firing just over minutes into the game but the Seasiders quickly replied by …

A superb fight-back saw Posh get off the mark in their first Championship match of the season
There was a definite buzz in the air at London Road as The Championship campaign got underway. Both teams realistically needed a win after Palace flirted with relegation last season and Posh wanted to prove all the pundits wrong after already having their season written off with a quick return to League One predicted. The atmosphere inside the ground reflected the importance of the match as both teams had healthy support who made some …

The new Npower Championship season is getting ever so near, so here is my latest preview of Leicester City’s 2011/2012 opponents. This time around I give my thoughts on newly promoted Peterborough, with the London Road faithful often supplied by goal fests last season what can we expect from the Posh in this campaign. Will they struggle to find the net on a consistent basis, or will the team who scored goals for fun in 10/11 bring a certain entertainment factor to the Npower Championship this time around…

Player of the Season
Craig Mackail-Smith: What is left to say about this man? This season there are few superlatives that haven’t been used to describe him. With 35 goals this season he is the top goalscorer in all of English football and he has been a class above any other player in the division. No matter how many times you see Mackail-Smith play his work-rate will never cease to amaze and this season he has added the ingredients needed to make him a brilliantly well-rounded striker. No longer a weak …

Up The Posh!

Normally this article would describe the events that happened during 90 minutes of football. To do it in this game somehow seems disrespectful. This was more than a football match. This turned into something that became a memory that every single member of the 15,000 contingent of Posh fans will remember for the rest of their life.
My vocabulary isn’t particularly expansive, admittedly, but I cannot think of the words to sum up the emotion today. I’m not sure anyone could. There are some things that cannot be written down, no …

When you go to a football match, why is it that you do? Is it out of dedication to your club – a club that has become an integral part of your life? Is it out of a love of football? Or is it, simply to be entertained? Whilst many hardened fans will point at the former, ask yourself why you fell in love with Peterborough United football club in the first place. It wasn’t because it was engrained in you. It was because you were entertained. You wanted to …

A superb performance for The Posh saw them through to the playoff final with a surprisingly comfortable victory over MK Dons.
The atmosphere at London Road was electric. This was a big game and it had the feel of one too. Darragh MacAnthony lapped up the support in a lap of honour before former playoff legends such as David Farrell and Ken Charlery also helped crank the atmosphere up before the kickoff.
Darren Ferguson made three changes from the starting line-up that had played in the first leg. James Wesolowski was …

Posh are lucky to still be in with a chance of making the playoff final after putting in an abject performance against an impressive MK Dons side at Stadium MK.
The wait was finally over. Hoards of Posh fans had invaded Stadium MK and there was a real sense of nerves before the game. It had been a long time since Posh had been in a playoff situation. Many fans that were there had not experienced it before. Ferguson trusted his usual Posh starting line-up to cope with the pressure though. There were …

It’s not long now. The wait is almost over. On Saturday 14th of May the League One playoffs commence. The first of these games is Huddersfield vs Bournemouth. After catching up with Cherries fan, Chris Lines we thought it was time to get a ‘Terriers’ point-of-view. Thankfully for us was able to provide it:
Huddersfield Town is embarking on its seventh Play-Off campaign looking for a third promotion via this method, the second at this level.  It comes on the back of a record breaking season that saw the club …
