he weekend brought with it the first encounter between Anton Ferdinand and John Terry since Terry had been cleared of charges of exhibiting racial abuse towards Ferdinand by the Magistrates Court. Although he had been acquitted, the case is far from over as the FA has stepped in and charged Terry for the same offence, again one he denies. When QPR hosted Chelsea, the previously scrapped convention of the players shaking hands highlighted the drama going on off the pitch. As he had promised, Anton Ferdinand avoided the hands of …

If your a neutral for this London derby and hoping for a few goals you should probably be told that in the last 5 meetings between Chelsea and QPR 4 of them have ended 1-0   (3 Chelsea wins and 1 for QPR). However the last time they played the scoreline was 6-1 to Chelsea.

Anton Ferdinand is preparing to start in QPR’s starting 11 after recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered against Manchester City a fortnight ago.

QPR kept the presenters on Sky Sports News busy up until Fridays 11pm transfer deadline, signing eleven players to try and improve on last seasons 17th place finish.
Mark Hughes has bought in the likes of Boswinga, Granero and Green who on the face of it all look decent acquisitions for the West London club but bringing in so many faces must unsettle the current playing squad.
Some have said that some of the purchases have had a touch of panic buy about them, Cesar, Nelsen, Johnson and Ji-Sung spring to mind.

With the first three weeks of the season complete and the transfer window now shut here’s a few pointers to the season ahead

Southampton might be the Blackpool of 2010/11 –
In recent Premier League seasons promoted teams such as Blackpool, West Brom and Swansea have attempted to stay up with an open style of play that has made them extremely entertaining to watch. However this does not always work out in these teams avoiding the drop. Blackpool were cruelly relegated a few years back after playing some attractive football. This season Southampton …

Joey Barton announced to Twitter Tuesday morning that his “dream loan move” to Marseille was off and that he had been forced to train with the kids again.
What next for the Huyton born midfielder who just can’t seem to settle wherever it is he ends up, his spell at his first club Manchester City was littered with off the field issues, including a 4 month suspended prison sentence and 39 bookings and 3 red cards.
At St James Park he looked like he found a home after the club stood by …

The January transfer window, a time when we see wild rumours fly around, a time when every fan thinks they’re a journalist and can make up a rumour and pass it on as a fact, a time when journalists and media outlets think that they hold all the cards on when a player will move and where too and for how much when in reality for however much gets said only a small percentage of that will be done.
I have no problem with the January transfer window, if anything I …

Following the decision by the QPR board to bring an end to Neil Warnock’s two years in charge, Mark Hughes was unsurprisingly installed as the new manager at Loftus Road. Having been out of the game for over a year since leaving Fulham, Hughes has returned to the Premier league looking to build upon his reputation as one of Britain’s most promising young managers. The task in hand for Hughes is not an easy one.
QPR had returned to the top flight under Warnock for the first time since 1996. Additions …

New Years Day 1992; A rampant Rangers annihilated a Manchester United team locked in a title battle with Leeds thanks to a Dennis Bailey hat-trick. However in typical Rangers fashion the rejuvenated squad travelled to The Dell to lock horns with Southampton in a FA Cup game in which saw a lack luster performance punished with a 2-0 loss. Ironically, QPR failed to register another win until the 7th March when a 4-0 win was recorded against the blue half of Manchester.

After three performances of quality against recognized premiership opposition, …

I am not a huge follower of Championship Football, but QPR’s young Moroccan Adel Taarabt has stood out this season like a sore thumb. Since his move from Tottenham, Taarabt has been QPR’s success story, playing with maturity on the field and putting in some incredible performances. For those of you who are QPR fans or Championship fans alike…just how good is Adel Taarabt? From what I have seen, he seems a world class talent in the making, in that he could become an outstanding player.
It was Martin Jol that …
