Manager Garry Hill has signed experienced goalkeeper Alan Marriott from Lincoln City as he looks to put the finishing touches to his squad. Marriott, who spent 9 seasons with the Imps, has signed a two year deal to become the Diamonds No 1 for the forthcoming season.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Dean McDonald has joined Rushden and Diamonds on a one-year contract after leaving Inverness by mutual consent. Inverness signed McDonald from Gillingham last year but made only 7 substitute appearances. 22 year old McDonald started his career with Arsenal before joining Ipswich. He later had a brief loan spell with Hartlepool before subsequently joining Gillingham, where he scored 6 goals in 29 appearances.

After a season long loan spell last year, Curtis Osano has chosen to sign for Rushden ahead of many Football League clubs. Osano today put pen to paper on a deal that expires in 2010, after being released by Championship side Reading.
Kenyan born Osano joined Reading at the Schoolboy stage and had similar loan spells with Woking and Aldershot, and last year played the most games all season of the Rushden squad, making a staggering 56 appearances.

The Blue Square Premier fixtures for the 2008/09 season have been announced, with Rushden travelling to newly promoted Eastbourne Borough on the opening day of the season. This match is followed by home games with Ebbsfleet and Wrexham, before the game all Diamonds fans want to go to- Kettering away. The Poppies then return to Nene Park later on in the season on the 11th April.
