The 2015-16 Premiership season is almost upon us, I will have a lot at each team and access what they have done thus far and what they possibly still need to do to achieve their target.
I shall split this into 3 parts, the first part being the hypothetical bottom seven, including the three promoted sides, and the four teams who survived the drop, (positions 14-17th), in the Premiership last season.
Bournemouth (Last season – 1st in the Championship)
The only times I have had to mention Bournemouth before the 2014/15 season was …

After a career spanning 20 years, Kevin Phillips retirement from the game today leaving many a football fan in admiration of his career.
Phillips, who turns 41 this summer, burst onto the scene for Watford at the tail end of the 1994/95 season scoring 24 goals in nearly 60 appearances for the Hornets. A big money move to Sunderland saw him score over 100 goals in just over 200 games for the Black Cats where he became the first Sunderland player to score over 30 goals in a season since the …

Troy Deeney began the 2012/13 season imprisoned for affray. He finished the 2011/12 season as Watford’s top goalscorer with twelve. He was beginning to show form for the hornets, something he had struggled to do for the club since his move from Walsall. Whatever hopes and dreams the Englishman had for the following campaign seemed to have vanished when he was sentenced to ten months in prison, however an incredible turn of events led him from cleaning toilets to playing at Wembley in eight months. Here is Troy Deeney’s story.

The new Championship season is almost here and its time to start thinking of everybody’s chances. Will we have one team run away with the title like Cardiff did last year or will it be a closer contest? Here I’ll have a look at who I think will make the top six and who I think will face the dreaded drop to League One. If you disagree, add your comments at the bottom!
Champions: Reading

The Royals were unlucky to be relegated last season – yes, they were 11 points away from …

Watford FC have recently seen some big changes around the club, with the Pozzo takeover, the appointment of Gianfranco Zola, and no less than ten new signings so far in the transfer window, the future looks very bright at the moment.
So I will be giving a brief outline of the transfer dealings done so far by the club and my predictions for the season ahead.
First off the two original trialists under Zola were Czech pair Vydra and Pudil.
Matej Vydra, 20, is a versatile forward, being able to play …

I have almost finished my batch of Npower Championship previews, in this feature it’s Watford who I will be concentrating on this time around. It will be a whole new feel at Vicarage Road this season, as star players such as Danny Graham, Will Buckley and Don Cowie have headed for pastures new, while even manager Malky Mackay jumped ship to Cardiff City. Sean Dyche has been left in charge of the golden boys at this moment in time, can the new manager of Watford produce the stability which Malky …

John Eustace had a goal disallowed deep into injury time, as former Hornets boss Brendan Rodgers secured revenge.
Swansea edged 2-0 in front thanks to goals from Scott Sinclair and Stephen Dobbie, before on loan striker Frank Nouble made it 3-0 to the Swans on 69 minutes.
Watford then gave the home faithful a glimmer of hope, substitute Troy Deeney netted his first league goal in a yellow shirt, Martin Taylor also pulled a goal back for the home side, but that wasn’t enough as Swansea secured their first away win of the season.
Sinclair …

Brendan Rodgers is all set to reinstate his feet into Vicarage Road, this time though the former “Hornets” boss will be managing Swansea City, currently the 9th best team in the Npower Championship. With Watford on fire and with home advantage, can Malky Mackay’s side make it four league wins in a row?
The Teams
Watford – The “Golden Boys” have been hitting the net for fun in recent weeks, a 6-1 away win over Millwall started things off, and that excellent win was then followed by an impressive victory over Gordon Strachan’s …

The Opposition:

An inconsistent start to the season saw Watford positioned in mid-table with a play-off place not looking beyond the realms of possibility however after a poor December ‘The Hornets’ form took a turn for the worse. This abject run of form has continued into 2010 and since the turn of the year Watford have only won two league games, now ‘The Golden Boys’, who are currently 19th in the Championship, have been dragged into a relegation battle. Malky Mackay took over as Watford boss at the start of the …

From League 1 Champions to fast emerging play-off contenders in the Championship it has been a great 2009 for Leicester fans, Leicester players, Leicester manager Nigel Pearson and chairman Milan Mandaric. Leicester City were able to graft in some silverware at the end of May this year, the first piece of competitive silverware since the Worthington Cup win in 2000, as the club were crowned League 1 champions, as vital wins over Leeds United and Southend United plus a draw against Scunthorpe saw Leicester cap off a great 2008/2009 campaign.
The final half of the 08/09 …
