Today West Bromwich have announced that manager Pepe Mel has parted companies with the club by mutual consent. After just joining in January as the successor of Steve Clarke. Pepe Mel hasn’t had the most successful reign at the Hawthorns but he was able to keep them above the relegation zone come the end of the season.
The next West Bromwich manger will have a lot of work to do in the summer as 10 players’ contracts runs out at the summer and with massive improvement required to be able to secure Premier League football for yet another year.
1. Malky Mackay – Cardiff’s fan-favourite manager Malky Mackay since the end of December, the Scottish manager is the favorite to take the job at the Hawthorns, after dropping his legal case against Cardiff, Mackay can be the next West Bromwich.
2. Chris Hughton – Considered by most people as the leader in the race to the hot seat, Hughton’s disappointing 2-years reign at Norwich ended earlier in April with just 5 fixtures to go leaving Neil Adams as the head coach. Hughton will very much welcome a job at the Premier League and will be fighting with Mackay for the job.
3. Tim Sherwood – The Tottenham manager has been frustrated with the Spurs’ board after he’s time at the Tottenham hot seat, as Tottenham looking for a new manager at the likes of Frank De Boer, Tim Sherwood might be up for grabs and will relish the chance of managing at the Premier League.
4. Avram Grant – Known for his love of challenges the former West Ham boss might be ready to return to England after taking off in May 2011 after his reign at West Ham, Grant, currently out of work since his Partizan Belgrade 4-months job in 2012 would try to embark on another journey for his long CV.
