After the Man U game on Monday, every Arsenal fan is sad and has gone into a zone of retrospection, what is bothering more is that “Should Arsenal really consider themselves as title contenders”
When will Arsenal win big
After all, Arsenal over the past few seasons have meekly surrendered against the likes of Chelsea and Man U, and this season the Spurs have already inflicted a defeat. Because what followed the euphoria of being at top of the table was extremely disappointing.
Final Ten Minutes
What was really worse about the Arsenal performance was the dispirited performance in final ten minutes, I mean a team is just a goal down, and how many chances do they create in the final few minutes !! I guess the Tangerines would have created more chances.
Arsenal flatly failed to create any considerable challenge to the Mancherster United defence in the final few minutes. Whereas there were defensive lapses at Arsenal’s end, if it wasn’t for the Szczesny on his Premier League debut in goal, Arsenal’s defensive performance would have been so much worse.
Even in Fulham match, the pace changed when the Russian was substituted, and in the Man U game, he was just not there, half chances do not count in such a match, there was certain lack of creativity in the offensive, to break a team of the likes of Man U.
There is a lot of speculation in the football circles that Spurs might put up a good title challenge, and over the last few weeks I have come around to believe in it. The Chelsea game was so much open, and Spurs are gaining momentum and are gaining confidence and skill, and its basically the final few minutes of Spurs and Arsenal, which can really contrast the performance
Chelsea, Man U, Man City, Spurs… where does that leave Arsenal
The real danger this season is that, traditionally Man U have a better second half of the season than the first half,, if Big Spending Man City manage to keep (Rooney Mate) Tevez, and add a few more sparks in the transfer window, they can seriously improve their record post Jan. Chelsea are beginning to find their feet, and surely will pose a challenge, and Spurs as I mentioned before are gaining and have momentum on their side…. But then where does it leave Arsenal?? Fans should look at this prospect seriously and so should Wenger that next season Champions league football might just fall out of reach, and think of better strategies in the transfer window .
When Will I next win a title?
This brings us to a dark possibility that this season, the silverware might be far off, Arsenal might just become an ALSO – RAN club, as a Arsenal fan personally it would be very very disappointing.
