According to the Daily Mail, Premier League champions Manchester United have launched a £60 million bid for Spurs’ winger Gareth Bale. David Moyes’ Manchester United wants Gareth Bale to be his major signing of the summer transfer window. Gareth Bale would certainly boost Manchester United’s hopes of retaining the Premier League title if he decides to leave Spurs.
Spurs are desperate not to lose Bale and have so far resisted United’s approach and according to ESPN they are set to double his wages for next season. Real Madrid are also looking at signing the highly rated Welshman after they lost out on Neymar to Barcelona last month.
At this point in time Bale is staying at Spurs as the club are set for another year in the Europa League after Arsenal just managed to grasp fourth place and the last Champions League spot last season. The Daily Mail has said that Bale wants to leave Spurs for Champions League football which further likens the Welshman for a move to the Red Devils.
Manchester United’s Rooney saga is edging closer to a solution where he may be heading to Chelsea as Jose Mourinho has called Wayne as his ‘Special One’ (The Sun). If Rooney does decide to leave this will further open the gap up in the squad which is in desperate need of a stronger midfield and the Manchester club may use the Rooney money to sign Bale his summer. The question is can is Bale happy playing another season of Europa League or does he want to play for a bigger club in the Champions League?
