The January transfer market always ceases to amaze football fans as big clubs frantically look for players that will help them down the long stretch at the end of a hectic season. The Championship has four top talents which Premier League teams will be watching out for, to make a big money move.
Jack Butland- Birmingham City Age: 19 Pos: Goalkeeper
Who would not want a 19 year old international goalkeeper? Excatly. Butland has impressed in 2012 and earned his first England cap. Team GB had him in the starting line up at the Olympics showing that he is a safe pair of hands that will serve any team for the next 10 years. Rumours circulating around the league have him at £6 million which would be a bargain for a long term starter.
Potential Premier League clubs- Everton, Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham and Liverpool.
Wilfried Zaha- Crystal Palace Age: 20 Pos: Winger
Zaha has attracted a lot of attention from the Premier League this season as has inspired Palace up into the promotion race. The winger has scored five goals in 28 games in all competitions but his dazzling skill has ripped through defences. Like Butland, Zaha has received his first England cap after coming on as a substitute against Sweden in November. Crystal Palace will not let him go cheap as estimated values come in at around £12 million.
Potential Premier League clubs- Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Charlie Austin- Burnley Age: 23 Pos: Striker
Charlie Austin scores when he wants. Literally. 20 goals in 24 games in the Championship has made him the league’s top goal scorer and the hottest striker from the lower leagues. Now a fan favourite, Austin has 40 goals in three seasons at the club after moving from Swindon in the January transfer window of 2011. Some top sides still believe that it is a risk to fork out big money for the striker but at 23 years old he could become a household name in the coming years. Burnley say they have no intention of selling this month. But if the right price comes along, it would be hard for the Clarets to turn the move down.
Potential Premier League clubs- Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal.
Tom Ince- Blackpool Age: 20 Pos: Winger
13 goals in 26 appearances from a winger speaks volume. Ince has carried Blackpool this season and a transfer to the Premiership looks imminent. Like his father Paul Ince, he could be a regular at Liverpool. Tom was a trainee on Merseyside but went to Blackpool in a pursuit for regular playing time. Liverpool seem to be the favourites for his signature and a return to the Kop is a real probability. Blackpool could let him go for £6 Million.
Potential Premier League clubs- Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham.
