Eberechi Eze Arsenal Transfer Arrives At Perfect Time As Star Ruled Out Four Weeks

Will Eze Play Tonight

Eberechi Eze’s arrival as Arsenal’s newest transfer recruit has come at the perfect time following an injury to one of the club’s big hitters.

Eze joined the club last weekend after he put pen to paper on a deal to sign from Crystal Palace.

It came in a deal worth around £64million to the Gunners and saw the Eagles rake in a hefty profit for their playmaker talisman who, admittedly, they know will be difficult to replace.

Palace have transfer options to bring in now that Eze has left, but as the England international arrives at his new club – his boyhood outfit – he does so to replace a new teammate right away.

Following Arsenal’s hammering of Leeds United at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon, Bukayo Saka scored but then took a bit of a heavy knock to his hamstring and had to be substituted.

Ebere Eze Arsenal arrival comes after Bukayo Saka injury

And now it has been made clear that the 23-year-old will miss up to four weeks of action in red and that includes big, significant matches against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle among others.

Saka missed three months of action last season with the same type of injury and there had been fears when he hobbled off that he could be sidelined for the same sort of timeline.

However those worries were allayed after testing was done over the weekend and it was confirmed that he would only sit out for four weeks.

Eze, meanwhile, was brought in to play in his usual drifting role or as a No.10 but that could all change now that Saka has been declared out of action.

Eze may well be asked to play on the left-hand side as is his more suitable role but he could also, alternatively, be moved to the right-flank to account for Saka’s injury.

How Arsenal can accommodate Saka injury

What is perhaps slightly more likely than an Eze switch in position is bringing in the likes of Leandro Trossard and moving him or allowing Noni Madueke a crack at a regular spot in place of Saka.

Gabriel Martinelli is also another option with the Gunners well equipped in the attacking areas, but with Eze now in the door it comes at a good time to ensure the Saka blow won’t be too heavy.

Arsenal won their opening match of the Premier League season away at Old Trafford vs Manchester United, 1-0, before they battered Leeds.

Eze, while still at Palace, scored a disallowed free-kick vs Chelsea on the opening day before manager Oliver Glasner opted to leave Eze out for other matches as he handled the move.
