Cristiano Ronaldo reaches double figures for 20th season in a row
Cristiano Ronaldo’s brilliant bicycle kick against Al-Khaleej delivered the 40-year-old his 10th Saudi Pro League goal of the 2025/26 season.
That means that Ronaldo has now scored at least 10 league goals in 20 consecutive seasons.
Ronaldo first hit double figures in the 2006/07 campaign when he netted 17 Premier League goals for Manchester United.
Since then, he has averaged 29 league goals per season — not including the current campaign, which is less than a third complete.

A chart displaying how many league goals Cristiano Ronaldo has scored per season throughout his career
In how many seasons has Lionel Messi scored at least 10 league goals?
Lionel Messi — Cristiano Ronaldo’s great rival — scored 10 or more La Liga goals in his final 15 seasons for Barcelona.
However, his run of double-digit returns ended in the 2021/22 campaign, when he netted just six goals in 26 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi has since rediscovered his scoring form, though. He bagged 20 goals in 19 Major League Soccer appearances in 2024, while he currently has 29 in 28 games during the current MLS campaign.
Both Ronaldo and Messi are closing in on winning a new piece of team silverware this season.
Messi’s Inter Miami side are potentially just two victories away from winning the MLS Cup, while Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are favourites to finally win the Saudi Pro League.
After winning all of their first nine matches this season, the Saudi Pro League points record could also be on the cards for Al-Nassr.
