Liverpool’s youngsters were knocked out of the UEFA Youth League after a 2-1 defeat to MSK Zilina, as another Beatles-themed tifo caught the eye.
19-year-old Frantisek Kosa netted a 65th-minute winner for the Slovakian minnows in front of a sell-out crowd of more than 10,000 supporters,
Liverpool youngster Kieran Morrison had given the Reds an early lead before the hosts battled back to progress to the round of 16.
However, more eyes were drawn to a banner on display in the Zilina crowd than to the result on the pitch.
‘Today, you walk alone’
For the second time in a matter of weeks, it was the action in the stands which stole the headlines in a European away day for Liverpool.
Whilst the Reds were outclassed on the pitch, they were also mocked by an MSK Zilina’s tifo, which took aim at Liverpool’s famous anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
Before the game, the partisan Slovakian crowd unfurled a banner that read “Today, You Walk Alone,” with an image of Liverpool’s Fab Four beneath it.
The Slovakian side backed up their confidence in the stands to send the young Reds packing, unlike one of Liverpool’s recent Champions League opponents.

Marseille’s ‘History Repeats Itself’ tifo
The tifo comes just a few weeks after Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League tie against Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille, which saw the French crowd unveil an even more sophisticated tifo to taunt the Reds.
Marseille recreated a famous image of The Beatles reading the newspaper with the caption “History repeats itself”, a reference to the French side’s 2-1 UEFA Cup victory against the Reds in 2004.

However, despite an impressive effort from the crowd, history did not do its job on the night, and neither did the players, who succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Arne Slot’s men.
The result eventually contributed to Marseille’s failure to reach the knockout stages of the competition, after Benfica’s late heroics against Real Madrid saw them pip the French side to the final qualification place.
It wasn’t the first time an away side has tried to make fun of Liverpool, and it certainly won’t be the last.
