Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta cleared house earlier this summer as he shipped out the deadwood at the Emirates.
The Gunners allowed as many 12 players to depart the club whether it be on loan or in permanent transfers and it seems to have been a decision from the boss which has paid off.
So far, anyway, as Arsenal want to win silverware this season.
The Spanish coach has guided his squad to the top of the Premier League despite having always been the bridesmaid and never the bride.
It remains to be seen whether he and his players can keep the momentum shifting in the right direction but they have a squad full of top players who all now seem to have a part to play with very few fringe options.
That could be the difference for the North London club this term who were able to send multiple others out to clubs in the marketplace.
We at FootballBlog have taken a look at the top stars Arteta moved on from Arsenal this summer and see how they are now coping with their new homes.
Kieran Tierney
Celtic have not had a good start to the season as they currently sit second to Hearts by eight points.
So certainly not where KT wanted to be when he chose to return home to Glasgow.
Some fans have questioned his performances with the defender looking a shadow of his former self at times, perhaps due to injuries he has racked up over the years and a desire to avoid a repeat.
Tierney has played 14 games for Celtic so far and provided just three assists.
Jorginho
Was allowed to leave on a free, like Tierney, and has done relatively well.
The Brazilian-born Italian returned to his homeland with Flamengo and this season has turned out 23 times thus far.
He has two goals and two assists in that time.
Jakub Kiwior
FC Porto are top of their league and Kiwior has played a big part in that form.
The Poland international is only on loan in Portugal but he has played eight times in all competitions – including in the Europa League vs Salzburg and Nottingham Forest – and performed well.
One assist to his name this season, Kiwior will be pushing for the league title and UEL qualification beyond the League Phase.
Oleksandr Zinchenko
The full-back joined Nottingham Forest under Nuno Espirito Santo after Arteta opted not to sell on a permanent.
He arrived at the City Ground on a loan deal and has played six times.
His stats and numbers have left a lot to be desired so far but the only way is up, you’d suspect, with Sean Dyche at the helm as the Englishman is more defensive-minded.

Has missed a lot of football this season so far.
Fabio Vieira
Currently enjoying a loan stint in Germany with Hamburg.
The 25-year-old has made five appearances and provided two assists as he has chipped in against Heidenheim in both the Bundesliga and the cup.
Reiss Nelson
Has not played half as often at Brentford as we believe he would have liked by this stage in the campaign.
Keith Andrews clearly likes the winger and he has trusted him more than once, but it is possible the manager does not believe Nelson is ready for a start.
He has featured twice – both matches off the bench – and he has helped himself to a goal and an assist against Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup.
Might get more of an opportunity as the season rolls on but he has spent most of his time in the dugout so far.
Thomas Partey
Left on a free amid a cloud of rape and sexual assault allegations against him, which he denies.

Joined Villarreal and has played 11 times.
Nuno Tavares
The 25-year-old is currently plying his trade with Lazio in Serie A following his departure from the Emirates in the summer.
It was reported earlier this year that the Gunners received a £6million fee for the player who had his loan deal turned into a permanent switch.
A decent sum which could rise and he has played seven games this season already for his new club.
Has started more often than not for the club under manager Maurizio Sarri.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
The defender is still without a club despite being considered a safe pair of hands at full-back.
Injuries played a major part in Arteta’s call to release the Japan international and he is still suffering.
Recently he posted: “I just want to come back soon! I want to play football! That’s all! I’ll do it.”
However during his Gunners career, the 26-year-old has been plagued by issues including multiple calf problems and numerous knee injuries and surgery.
