Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has released an emotional injury update after suffering a season-ending knee injury against Arsenal.
The 22-year-old Northern Ireland fullback has struggled with injury throughout this season.
He has missed games with various hamstring and muscle problems, and looked to finally be getting back to fitness.
But after being stretchered off in last week’s goalless draw at Arsenal, Bradley’s season is over.
A freak incident and awkward twist as he attempted to clear the ball saw him sustain a serious knee injury, one that required surgery.
In a dull affair, Liverpool recorded no shots on target against the Gunners.
And losing Bradley to long term injury only added to a disappointing evening in North London.
Bradley will also miss Northern Ireland’s World Cup play-off run, but it is unknown if he will be fit for the World Cup itself in the summer if they were to qualify.
Conor Bradley Issues Injury Update After Surgery
Posting on social media, Bradley issued a defiant statement as he confirmed his knee operation was successful.
He said: “A big blow but surgery is done so the comeback starts now. It won’t be for a little while but I already can’t wait to get back playing for @liverpoolfc and @northernireland.
“Thanks for all the support.”

Several of Bradley’s Liverpool teammates commented messages supporting Bradley underneath his post.
Defender Ibrahima Konate said: “You will come back stronger my Little Brother”.
And Scotland international Andy Robertson added: “Comeback starts now mate.”
As it stands, no timeframe has been set for Bradley’s return to action.
The youngster had played 21 times for Liverpool this season, but missed a big chunk of games with various niggles and minor issues.
Despite his season being over, Reds boss Arne Slot is not thought to be interested in signing a replacement.
Gabriel Martinelli Apologises For Incident After Bradley Injury
Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has apologised after attempting to shove Bradley off the pitch as he was down injured at the Emirates.
Martinelli drew widespread criticism for his actions with commentator Gary Neville calling the Brazilian a “disgrace” during the game.

Posting on social media in the aftermath, Martinelli said: “Conor and I have messaged and I have already apologised to him.
“I really didn’t understand he was seriously injured in the heat of the moment. I want to say I’m deeply sorry for reacting. Sending Conor all my best again for a quick recovery.”
Despite the feeling of anger the Arsenal ace will receive no further punishment from the Football Association, with the matter considered dealt with as it was seen at the time by referee Anthony Taylor.
