Liverpool’s stance on Mohamed Salah future revealed amid links to the Saudi Pro League

According to The Athletic, Liverpool expect their star Mohamed Salah to stay at the club beyond the summer.

The 31-year-old joined the Reds in 2017 from Roma and has established himself as one of the key members of the first-team.

The Egyptian has lifted the Premier League and Champions League trophies with the Merseyside giants.

But his contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the campaign, having penned his previous deal in 2022.

Saudi outfit Al-Ittihad launched a lucrative bid to secure his services last summer but the Reds were not interested in selling at all.

There is still said to be an interest in Salah from the Saudi Pro League but Liverpool expect the winger to stay and are planning on the basis of him being part of their squad for next term.

The 31-year-old was involved in a heated exchange with manager Jurgen Klopp on the touchline during Saturday’s 2-2 draw at West Ham United.

But there has been no suggestion of internal concern about the incident.

Liverpool have seen a massive drop in form in the last few weeks as they are now out of contention for the Premier League title.

With just three matches remaining in the season, they are five points behind leaders Arsenal in the standings.

The team are now set to clash Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and the game is available to watch for fans through Premier League live streams
