Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has issued a positive injury update on several members of his squad ahead of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second lag against Newcastle United.
City won the opening leg 2-0 at St. James’ Park last month to take a commanding lead back to the Etihad.
Goals from new Man City signing Antoine Semenyo and Rayan Cherki out City firmly in control after the opening fixture.
It will take a massive upset for Newcastle to overturn their two-goal deficit.
City have won their last 11 meetings with Newcastle on home soil.
And in a massive boost for Pep Guardiola, defender Ruben Dias could be back in contention for Wednesday.
Positive Manchester City Injury Update On Ruben Dias
Portuguese defender Ruben Dias has been sidelined since New Year’s Day.
The 28-year-old picked up a hamstring injury in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, but is now back training.
Along with Dias, Josko Gvardiol was also injured against Chelsea, suffering a broken leg.

The pair’s absence has severely limited City’s defensive options.
John Stones has missed much of the campaign with a thigh problem, with Marc Guehi joining City from Crystal Palace to reinforce their depleted back line.
But with Dias back in training, it’s now hoped he will be available for Wednesday’s cup fixture.
City Still Waiting On Fitness Of Several Players For Newcastle Clash
While Dias may be fit for Wednesday, attackers Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku are major doubts.
Both forwards picked up knocks in recent games against Tottenham and Galatasaray.
Doku was missing as City drew with Spurs at the weekend, but Pep Guardiola is hopeful both men will return soon.
Should they miss Wednesday’s cup tie, City’s next game is a massive trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League.

Discussing Cherki after the Tottenham game, Guardiola said: “He had a knock.
“We will see today how he feels.
“Ruben [Dias] started training yesterday and Jeremy [Doku] not yet.”
As it stands, City trail league leaders Arsenal by six points in the Premier League title race.
With just one win in their last six league games, City have failed to capitalise on Arsenal’s mediocre recent form.
They did secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League last 16, however, with a 2-0 win against Galatasaray in the final round of the league phase.
City’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Newcastle United kicks off at 20:00 on Wednesday night at the Etihad Stadium.
