According to English journalist Ben Jacobs, Saudi Arabian “dealmakers” have rekindled their interest in Vinicius Jr. ahead of the summer transfer window. They have long held an interest in the Brazilian and see summer 2026 as the perfect window to make a move.

Al-Ahli, which is owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), have emerged as the strongest candidates to sign Vinicius Jr. They are prepared to offer him a jaw-dropping contract worth €1 billion. However, the length of the contract remains unknown.

The Saudi Arabian football community believes signing Vinicius Jr. would create a global sensation, proving the league’s ability to attract world-class players in their prime.

Vinicius Jr.’s contract situation serves as an encouragement for Al-Ahli, and they are hoping he will delay negotiations for as long as possible.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are optimistic about keeping the player for the foreseeable future. Xabi Alonso’s departure has changed Vinicius’ renewal situation, with reports suggesting that he is now much happier in the Spanish capital.

Talking about his relationship with club president Florentino Perez, the 25-year-old said:

We have a very good relationship, and we’ll sort things out at the right time. We’re in no hurry to do that.
