Sevilla are reportedly planning to sign suspended Chelsea attacker Mykhailo Mudryk in the January transfer window.
JM Villalba (on Canal Sur) reports that Mudryk is suspended until January 17, 2026, though this has not been confirmed by official sources.
Mudryk has not played for Chelsea since November 2024. However, he is training under the Blues’ supervision to stay fit.
Mykhailo Mudryk’s Suspension Could End in January 2026
Mykhailo Mudryk tested positive for a banned substance last year. After the FA informed Chelsea of the matter, they dropped him from the squad.
Later, a provisional suspension was imposed upon the player.
In June 2025, the results of a B sample were disclosed, with the FA confirming that he had been charged for testing positive for meldonium – a medication banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 2016.
An offence of this magnitude can lead to a four-year suspension. However, according to Spanish journalist JM Villalba (on Canal Sur), Mudryk’s suspension is set to end on January 17, 2026.
Sevilla Plot Mudryk Move for January
LaLiga side Sevilla are eyeing a loan move for Mykhailo Mudryk in January. They want to move for the player as soon as his suspension ends.
The Andalusian outfit want to reinforce their attack with a value-for-money attacker, and see a unique opportunity in Mudryk.
Sevilla, who tend to be in the mix for a top-four finish, are currently in 13th place in the LaLiga table.

They are lacking a player who can beat defenders in one-on-one situations, and believe Mudryk, who has plenty of pace and is a good dribbler, could provide the missing spark.
Although Mudryk has not been in action for over a year, Sevilla are unbothered about his situation. According to Fichajes.net, Matias Almeyda’s side are confident they can bring the player up to speed in a short time.
Chelsea Open to Mudryk Loan
Chelsea are not opposed to a loan move for Mudryk if the receiving club can pay a portion of his salary during the tenure. The 24-year-old is reportedly on a £100,000/week deal at Chelsea, as per Capology.
The Blues want to lighten their salary burden and believe a loan move for Mudryk would be beneficial. Chelsea’s pursuit of Mohamed Zongo could also be boosted with the additional cash injection.
Finally, Mudryk is not believed to be in Enzo Maresca’s immediate plans, making a loan a feasible option.
Chelsea signed Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk for a staggering £89 million fee, including add-ons, in January 2023. Since the move, he has played 73 matches for the Blues, scoring 10 times.
His contract with the Blues expires in June 2031.
