Wolverhampton Wanderers have had a busy summer transfer window so far.
The Midlands outfit have lost Max Kilman to West Ham United in a move worth £40 million.
But they splashed £12.7m to sign Rodrigo Gomes from Braga, while Pedro Lima has joined the Premier League club for an £8.5m fee.
However, the Wanderers are still looking to bring in reinforcements before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
Wolves have long been admirers of Che Adams, who is currently a free agent after failing to agree a new contract with Southampton.
They had an £18m bid rejected for the 28-year-old last summer but could launch a move again this summer.
But The Sun report suggests Wolves are set to lose out to Torino who are currently in pole position for the signature of the forward.
The Serie A side are planning to speak to the 28-year-old and beat the Wanderers to his signature.
Paolo Vanoli has taken over the club as new manager and he is looking to sign a player to form a partnership with Duvan Zapata.
Che Adams has spent the last five years at Southampton, making 191 appearances across all competitions and scoring 48 goals.
He helped the Saints gain Premier League promotion last season after scoring 15 goals in 40 Championship games.
However, the forward left after failing to agree a new deal at St Mary’s Stadium.
