Championship Preview Leeds looking to repeat Tuesday’s Carling Cup result

Leeds United who failed to win their opening league game against Derby County, last weekend will be looking to bounce back with at least a point as they travel to Nottingham Forest’s fortress, The City Ground. Leeds United who won 4-0 against League 2 side Lincoln City at Elland road during the week; have just achieved promotion from the depths of the third tier of English football and will obviously along with Nottingham Forest, be hoping for their first win of this season.

Highly rated striker Jermaine Beckford left for Premier League side Everton during the close season, which will relieve Forest of a considerable goal threat. However with Luciano Becchio opening his account for the season against Derby and playing a part with a goal in the Carling cup on Tuesday night you can’t help but feel he will pop up with a goal at some point on Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand Leeds have lots to fear up front with Dexter Blackstock 11/2 to score the first Goal along with Wycombe front man Nathan Tyson who will be Looking to make amends to his goal tally last season with two goals in 19 appearance. Another player you cannot rule out of making a difference is the prolific goal scorer Robert Earnshaw who scored a respectable 17 Goals in 21 appearance in the 09/10 season.

Overall I feel with Forest’s outstanding forward line, they will have the edge in what will be a hard fought game, in my personal opinion I feel Leeds United will have to wait another week to see their side win their first game in the Npower Championship.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Leeds United (Becchio scoring for Leeds will be a good bet)
