Gunners skipper Cesc Fabregas has reiterated his committment to Arsenal in an exclusive interview with the clubs TV channel today.
The 22-year old Spaniard moved to quash rumours of a return to his homeland and former club Barcelona, in a week which has seen the world record transfers of Kaka & Cristiano Ronaldo to bitter rivals Real Madrid.
“Of course I see my future at Arsenal. I have a long contract with the club.” Said the midfield maestro.
“I would have never signed that if I did not think I was capable of making it [to the end of the deal]. The boss knows that I really want to stay here.”
This news will come as a relief to Arsenal chiefs who see Fabregas as the centre piece in any push for honours that the club mounts, and with a contract that runs until 2014 it seems that the clubs supporters can look forward to the presence of the recently appointed skipper for years to come.
“Since I was 18, they have been saying [he is seeking a transfer], but I am still here.
“I hope I can be at Arsenal for many years and lift trophies like the Champions League, the Premier League, FA Cups.
“I am really looking forward to it because I am sure the future is bright here.”
