Another Twist In Dramani Saga As Stoke Cool On Winger

In the last three months, Stoke’s chances of signing Lokomotiv Moscow and Ghana winger Haminu Dramani have gone from ”we’re signing who?!” to ”looks nailed on” to ”let’s wait and see in November” to ”seems it’s back on” and now to ”looks like it may not happen after all”, as Stoke chief executive played it cool with regards to the club’s interest in the nippy winger.

The two clubs had initially agreed a loan deal in August for the 22 year old, who has 27 international caps to his name, and scored for Ghana against the USA in the last world cup, but the prospective move fell through after the Russian club decided they wished to retain Dramani’s services until the end of the Russian season in November.

Then last week, it emerged that the deal move was back on, this time on a permanent basis, with the two clubs reportedly agreeing a £2.5 million fee for Dramani, who subseqently stated that it was his ”dream to play in the Premier League”.

It appears that this dream may have to be put on hold though, as Scholes has claimed that Stoke have not been in contact with Lokomotiv over the player recently, stating ”He wants to come, I don’t know where his club sits – time has moved on. I don’t know whether he’s top of Tony Pulis’s list. It’s a maybe, a maybe not.”

This doesn’t seem promising and the news comes as a disappointment to me. I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking Stoke are crying out for a quality, pacey left winger, and from what I have seen and heard of Dramani he seems to fit the bill.

We shall have to wait to see if the saga will eventually have a positive end for Stoke, but judging from this it looks unlikely.

Dramani may not be on his way to the Potteries after all
