Chelsea will donate a portion of their Club World Cup player bonuses to the family of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva.
The Portuguese brothers tragically passed away following a car accident in the Spanish province of Zamora early in July in an incident which shocked and saddened the football world.
Tributes were paid to the Liverpool player and his brother who turned out for Penafiel around the globe with players of every Premier League club and other sides uniting to remember the pair.
Now the Blues will make an incredible gesture by dividing their pot of funds earmarked from the tournament for their own squad and donate it.

According to The Athletic, around £11.4million was in the fund allocated for bonuses to be handed out to Enzo Maresca’s side. But after a meeting, a joint decision was made by both the Stamford Bridge club and their players to provide an equal payment to the pair’s family.
Chelsea earned around £84m from the competition after they were crowned champions of FIFA’s newly expanded tournament. They defeated Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in the US.
Liverpool recently unveiled plans to build a memorial sculpture outside Anfield to commemorate their player permanently.
A minute’s silence is planned ahead of this weekend’s opening Premier League game at home to AFC Bournemouth while a special fan mosaic has also been created.

The squad are also set to wear a special ‘Forever 20’ emblem on their shirts during the action.
The Reds recently confirmed they would retire the number 20 jersey at all levels in memory of the fan favourite.
The Premier League has also announced their own arrangements for tributes to be paid to Jota and his brother ahead of every fixture in this weekend’s calendar.
Tribute was already paid by Jota’s final club before pre-season friendlies against both Preston North End and Athletic Club while there was a remembrance before the Community Shield against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool will also dedicate the front cover of their matchday programme for tomorrow evening’s opening clash against the Cherries.
Liverpool will dedicate more tributes to Jota before Bournemouth clash
“The first Liverpool FC matchday programme of the 2025-26 Premier League season features a range of tributes in memory of Diogo Jota,” they posted.
“Friday’s meeting with AFC Bournemouth is the first competitive fixture at Anfield since the tragic passing of the man who will forever be the club’s number 20.
“The front cover of this edition is dedicated to Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, who also died in the road traffic accident in July.”
