Premier League Relegation: The Unthinkable Reality for Tottenham Hotspur

We’ve seen big clubs go down before, but Tottenham Hotspur being embroiled in a Premier League relegation battle in 2026 feels like a fever dream.

Fresh off a Europa League title last year, Spurs are currently 17th, sitting just one point above the drop zone.

The Igor Tudor experiment has been nothing short of a disaster in North London.

After a humiliating 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest before the international break, Spurs haven’t won a league game since December.

With seven games to save their top-flight status, the pressure is reaching a breaking point.

Leeds United: The Favourites to Stay Up?

Position: 15th | Points: 33

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United side are in the best position of the four.

While they aren’t scoring as freely as they’d like, they have a three-point cushion over the bottom three and a relatively “kind” fixture list.

Crucially, Leeds still have to play the current bottom two, Wolves and Burnley.

If they can take six points from those games, they should be safe.

However, a final-day trip to West Ham could turn into a winner-takes-all survival playoff if they aren’t careful.

Nottingham Forest: The European Distraction

Position: 16th | Points: 32

Forest are in a strange spot. They are performing well in the Europa League (facing Porto in the quarter-finals), but that continental success is draining their domestic energy.

That 3-0 win over Spurs was a lifeline, but their run-in is brutal.

With trips to Chelsea and Manchester United still to come, Nuno Espírito Santo’s men will likely rely on their home form.

A final-day clash at the City Ground against Bournemouth might be where they finally secure safety.

West Ham: The Great Escape is On

Position: 18th | Points: 29

Don’t count out the Hammers just yet. Despite spending much of the season in the bottom three, West Ham have picked up four wins in their last ten games.

They have momentum, and unlike Spurs, they look like a team that knows how to fight.

Their season hinges on the next three games. If they can beat Wolves and Crystal Palace, they’ll climb out of the danger zone.

If they don’t, that final-day showdown against Leeds at the London Stadium will be the most stressful 90 minutes in the club’s recent history.

The financial implications of relegation for West Ham will also have the club’s fans desperate to save their Premier League status.

The Verdict: Who Goes Down?

Predicting the Premier League relegation outcome this year is nearly impossible. However, looking at the “vibes” and the fixture lists, Tottenham are in serious trouble.

While Leeds and West Ham have shown they can grind out results, Spurs look like a club in freefall.

Unless a “new manager bounce” arrives in the next fortnight, we could be looking at the biggest shock in Premier League history come May.

Our Prediction: Wolves and Burnley to be joined by Tottenham Hotspur.
