Arshavin wants Gunners move

Andrei Arshavin’s agent has said his client is ‘desperate’ to join Arsenal.

The Russian International who starred at Euro 2008 is expected to leave his club Zenit St Petersburg before the end of the transfer window.

He had been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, after admitting that the Spanish giants were his ‘dream club’.

Barca’s bid for the midfielder fell short of Zenit’s pricetag though, whilst Arshavin’s agent Dennis Lachter has claimed an unnamed English club has put in a bid of 19 million for his services.

Lachter has said Zenit want 24 million for Arshavin, who has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea.

The agent has suggested Arshavin would be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

“Andrei is desperate to join Arsenal,” said Lachter in the Daily Mirror.

“His style of play would suit them perfectly.”

Arsenal will be glad to sign him he could even replace Adebayor up front if needed. It would be a dream signing.
