Although a Liverpool fan at heart, I also really enjoy the foreign leagues particularly Serie A and the Bundesliga. When ever I have built up enough money in my bank account I try and go abroad to watch the beautiful game. My favourite teams from abroad are Parma and Borussia Dortmund, although I do have a fondness for the majority of Italian and German clubs. My philosophy on football is that while stats can help make a point, they are not really proof of anything, football has too many variables and everything must be put in context. The only way to judge the players, games, and leagues is to watch them. I can’t help but feel the joy is slowly being lost from football and fans don’t seem to just want to enjoy the games, they demand big signings and trophies. So hopefully my articles will bring a refreshing balanced look at the beautiful game…
