Barcelona have reportedly added Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez’s name to their transfer shortlist for the summer transfer window.
Hansi Flick is a big admirer of the Argentine centre-back and believes he would be a worthy addition to his squad.

Barcelona have been looking for a left-footed centre-back to partner Pau Cubarsi at the heart of the defence, and Lisandro Martinez is the latest name to emerge as an option.
According to Fichajes.net, coach Hansi Flick is impressed with Martinez’s clean distribution, aggression in duels, and leadership ability.
With Robert Lewandowski nearing an exit, Barca need players who can support the team in difficult moments, and Flick believes Martinez could take on that responsibility.
Since Martinez excels at breaking lines with his passing, he is seen as the perfect fit for Flick’s high-risk/high-reward setup.

At Barcelona, they also see great value in his ability to play both as a centre-back and a full-back. They want a player who is not only solid at the back but can also catch the opposition defence off guard from time to time.

Owing to their financial issues, Barcelona are not in a position to fight the biggest teams for highly rated players. So, in recent years, they have had to be crafty when it comes to transfers.
They have targeted free agents and players in the final year of their contracts, and Martinez’s situation appears lucrative.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner sees his Manchester United contract expire in June 2027. Man United reportedly want to avoid a free transfer at all costs. With a renewal unlikely, the Red Devils will be under pressure to sell the player in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona are hopeful of capitalising on the opportunity and signing him at a discounted price in the summer. There is reportedly great optimism in Catalonia about the transfer.
