Progressing in the Champions League is about more than pride and honour; each result also carries major financial implications.
With the league phase in the history books, we can clearly see how much the Spanish giants, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid, have earned from the competition so far.
How Did LaLiga Teams Perform in UCL League Phase
Five LaLiga sides qualified for the Champions League in the 2025/26 season – Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, and Athletic Bilbao.
Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao could not cross the first hurdle and will not take part in the knockout rounds.
Athletic finished in 29th place with only eight points to their name, while Villarreal ended up in 35th place with just one point.

Real Madrid were the favourites to join them, but they lost 4-2 to Benfica on Matchday 8 and finished in ninth place.
Atletico Madrid also lost their final match and could only manage a 14th-place finish. Real Madrid and Atletico know their potential play-off opponents, but the decisive draw will be held on Friday.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico’s Champions League Earnings Revealed
