Bitter Levy slams United

Spurs chairman has hit out at Manchester United and the Premier League in a bitter outburst regarding Dimitar Berbatov’s £30.25mil move.

Levy told newspaper journalists last night that he fears players contracts have become worthless. Dimitar Berbatov still had 4 years left on his Tottenham contract, but it seemed like United had Spurs cornerd and forced the club to sell Berbatov.

Levy told ‘The Sun’; “I used to say we had no need to sell players on long contracts. This is no longer practical.”

“Recent events show the Premier League needs to review the system.”

The Premier league transfer policy has come under much stick recently, with a number of fan’s and journalists adamant that it favours the big clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United.

Levy’s outburst seems to have increased these fears.

Tottenham fan’s seem more angry with Ferguson and United, then they do with turncoat Berbatov. I personally, can’t believe what a hypocrite Ferguson is. It was only a couple of months ago he was moaning about Ronaldo being ‘tapped-up’ by Real Madrid. Isn’t that what they’ve done to Berbatov?

Just to remind people, this is what Fergie said when Madrid voiced their intrest in Ronaldo; “They think that they can ride roughshod over everyone but they won’t do it with us.”

“You get used to Madrid’s performances on these things, what they’re doing is appaling”.

So Mr Ferguson, it’s ‘appaling’ when clubs do it to you, but not when you do it to other clubs? All right, I’ll admit it, I’m still bitter!
