Chelsea made the trip to Belgium and in a pathetic performance they were lucky to get the one all draw with Ramires opening the scoring in the twenty sixth minute and David Luiz later missing a penalty five minutes before half time. Genk then equalized in the sixty first minute with Jelle Vossen. Chelsea had nineteen shots with seven of them on goal and Genk with fifteen shots, with six of them on goal. Both teams had nine fouls each and five corners a piece. The game became very thrilling towards the end due to the fact both teams wanted to snatch the winner.
Terry did not start in this game, could it of been the recent speculation of him being a racist? We shall find out soon enough. Sturridge, Lampard and Mata all came on for Anelka, Ramires and Romeu, leaving Chelsea with a very attacking team Torres, Sturridge, Lampard, Mata, Malouda and Meireles. Cech played reasonably well making some good saves, but all credit goes to Genk goalkeeper for saving his team from a gnarly defeat, which had happened in their last meeting.
Chelsea still might be shocked from the amazing three to five lost against Arsenal at home, but that shouldn’t stop them in the champions league against a small club like Racing Genk which they demolished five to one at home with Torres scoring two goals (that’s a first) but Chelsea need to get back in form with Andre Villas Boas having his ups and downs in the club, with two losses in the EPL and a draw in the Champions league.
In other results: Barcelona won four to nothing away. Ac Milan drew one all to BATE Borisov away. FC Porto lost two to one away and Arsenal drew nil all against Marseille.
