£50 million pounds is a lot to spend on any player but when he has made 10 appearances and is yet to find the back of the net there might be need to worry or start to think there is some kind of a hoodoo on him!
As we all know El Nino has scored goals for fun in past years for Spain and Liverpool, also not forgetting he has a great scoring record in La Liga. This proves that he can score goals at the highest level but what has stopped him scoring for Chelsea with some of the best players who can lay the ball on a plate for him.
He has had his chances in the games he has played for Chelsea most notably against Manchester United in the Champions League 1st leg, all it required was a solid touch past the despairing keeper but he hesitantly struck the ball with the slightest of touches and the chance for him was gone, If this had hit the back of the net then the Chelsea faithful would have forgiven him for missed chances in recent weeks.
So what is making this great striker so shy in front of goal, is it the huge transfer fee Chelsea paid that is adding the pressure, or is it that he looked great in an average team at Liverpool and Athletico Madrid but surrounded by great players at Chelsea he is not as great as we once thought. The only other reason i can think of is that he has had enough of the Premier League and would like a move back to the easier life in La Liga.
Whatever the reason is, Abramovich and Ancelotti will not put up with the misfiring Spaniard, with so much talent they have on the Chelsea bench they have other options. If Torres does not come up with the goods soon Chelsea will ship him on and bring in another striker for £50 million, but they will not re-cope all of their money for Torres and Abramovich will not care because he is just after success in Europe and the Premier League. This must be a worry to Torres who should know by now that he is not top dog anymore and can be sold at any time.
